First Unscrew the bump and the string reel. Next remove the two spit rings on the shaft. Take out the spring plate and spring. Next insect the black cone narrow end facing out. Put on the washer. Then figure out what nut threads your shaft. Push it to the bottom of the new trimmer head. I used the yellow hex tube to hold it in place and screwed the assembly onto the shaft nice and tight. Works like a charm. Note don’t do this if you ever want to use the string again. I have two click-it trimmer heads so not a big deal. You’re not likely to be able to reverse the process easily.
