I have used this product for chopping nuts, berries, onions. I like how I can control the consistency (via how many times I push down on the top) from chopped to diced to mush depending on what I am making.
It is easy to take apart and put together. Easy to clean. I have used similar item by a different maker (don't remember what maker but it came free with something) and found that it didn't swirl the contents so I could chop when bringing down the plunger. This item does that easily.

It's clearly marked for measuring so I think that will be helpful as l get to using it more. My husband will chop onions almost daily for various things and he loves this chopper especially with those blades that scrape the sides as it chops. That's a nice design function. Well designed chopper that does what it is supposed to do best: dicing and chopping onions and garlic. Might work for nuts and veggies but let's face it, onions and garlic are what you would use it for 95% of the time.
For a large onion just peel it cut in in quarters, and on a cutting board, start chopping each quarter separately and in a couple of minutes you will be all done.
