“The Fat Cat” Cat Backpack – For Larger Cats

Our breathable cat backpack is great for larger “big boned” cats, 2 medium sized cats (yes, you can use it for two cats), or lots of kittens! All of our styles have a clip and bungee for you to attach a leash so your cat can “hang out” of the backpack!

    My cat has never had any issues with his carrier and always gets in it on his own, but it was way too small. Now that I have this he is in love. Comes with a soft insert for the bottom, and hes started napping in it. I'm sure cats who are bad in carriers would find this a lot less stressful! It also has a little place to hook his harness, so there is no fear of him jumping out when you open it. Update: Mac loves hiking in it!! I take the bubble off and leave the top open for when its warm. He usually ends up falling asleep on the way down the mountain, so its comfortable for him! I will say the plastic screen window piece that comes with it is more ideal for warm weather since it has more air holds obviously. I use the bubble for cooler weather.

She is an older cat so even just using it as a bed is good as she can have some hesitation sometimes to use new stuff. Hopefully with some work she will be more comfortable using it. Other than that the backpack fits great when wearing and it is very well made.

Lots of treats and patience and within a month she's already getting pretty comfortable hanging out inside the backpack and even walking around while inside it. I chose this backpack over less expensive ones because I wanted something durable that would last, and so far this backpack keeps its shape well and hasn't shown any signs of wear. He loves poking his little head into the portal, and he falls asleep in it all of the time in the car.     Wow this is big. I got the large because the medium wasn’t available. There are some differences between the bag and the description. The large bag does have a zipper around the bottom. And there aren’t any zippered side pockets. I only have the two mesh pockets (1 on each side). It does feel very sturdy and after it’s “assembled” (zipped up) it is lighter than it seemed when I first removed from the box. I have a 13 pound Siamese and there is more than enough room for him. Update: we just took Nibbles to the park for the first time and the back pack was great. Nibbles hopped right back in whenever he got nervous. Its just the right height for him to sit up straight and look out the top. At first I thought the dome window was goofy but he enjoyed looking out of it. I do wish it had another opening on the side but overall I’m very happy I got this and would do it again.

In the Fat Cat Backpack her weight is hardly noticeable and the chest strap limits the Conestoga-Wagon-style jostling. It took her a little while to adjust to joining us on walks, but not long into the first walk she stopped her incessant meowing to look and smell and enjoy her new surroundings.
