Initial charging needs sun light but then it works even if there are clouds and it gets charge also where are are clouds. Auto changing mode of the fountain is amazing. My backyard looks amazing with this fountain and the birdbath. Haven't see any birds yet as its still not summer, hope to see birds and see them enjoying like we are enjoying this fountain.
