They simply transpond information using a short antenna to your phone or other nfc readable devices. Simply look up 'nfc enabled devices' on google and you can see if your phone can work with them. This is a very basic explanation of everything, but I encourage you to do more research on the tech before you slash and slander it, possibly detecting future customers because of your lack of knowledge of the topic.
