The deadbolt in one of the hotel rooms did not seem to fit properly so I was especially glad to have this device to use. Before I purchased it, my concern was if it could be easily removed in case of a fire. The answer is YES. The design is really pretty simple but ingenious. My only question remains if there is a medical emergency and I am alone and unable get to the door, could emergency responders could get into the room? Most likely there would be a way for responders to get into the room although there might be a delay. I decided not to worry about those odds.
