   This engraving machine is pretty neat. It's simple to use via cellphone. Wood engraving is almost flawless. As far as engraving leather, plastic or thin metal it doesn't do the job. I purchased this to engrave thermostats with my company name and logo. Was going to highlight the engraving with some paint to accent the letters and logo. Only problem is that this engraving machine doesn't work on plastic. It barely scratches the surface.

   I use this for engraving my woodworking projects. I’ve tried numerous other ways to do this, but nothing is as efficient and easy to use as this medium power laser device. I have had no problems with printing out my inscription on a laser printer, photographing this, transferring to the unit, tweaking the image, and engraving. It is particularly effective on darker woods, which are difficult to inscribe otherwise. The only fussy bit is setting up the unit on its tripod above the sample, it tends to be top-heavy.

   I bought it specifically to engrave our grandchildren's names into their holiday wooden handmade gifts, but now that I understand how it works, I can envision a range of projects will be perfect. Including the signing of some birdhouses I built this summer. Making sure the wood is super smooth from the start is very important. The instructions recommend using a fan to prevent smoke from interfering with the laser, and the fan will also prevent you from inhaling too much of the laser. The funny thing is that my wife loves the smell of wood when she finishes burning the laser. After Grandma's projects are completed, I want to try carving artwork on different types of paper.

   This does exactly what it says. Take it and run out of the box in 10 minutes. The packaging feels premium and the laser itself is sturdy and well-made. As with most things, it does take some time to learn the different modes and settings but it couldn't be much easier. Grab a photo from your album, snap a photo from your camera or create your own. I have burned paper, cardboard, wood, leather, plastic and bamboo with much success. Depending on the surface, I've even been able to create visible designs on the coated metal. Honestly, I'm impressed with the performance so far.

   I love this little laser engraver! It's a little tricky to set up and line up correctly, but, once you've mastered that, it's really convenient. My absolute favorite project by far is to engrave my company logo onto the plastic lid of a travel coffee mug! Just be sure to stay in a well-ventilated area with air moving in, as the manufacturer warns, and may I add, an area without smoke alarms is very sensitive, as a Noticeable amount of smoke is produced during stamping...and unpleasant odor depending on the impregnated medium. For small projects that can accommodate a tripod, this laser engraver is an unnecessary piece of technology to have on hand.

   This laser doesn't disappoint me at all, it's a bit awkward the image is 'square' to the right size if you do a lot of burn marks on a large piece of material, I blame that on the tripod, the tripod the leg isn't the best but the best work I've shot with the laser doesn't tighten all the way and the legs on the tripod are hard plastic so if your surface is smooth and it's sitting it can move moved, I fixed that myself.
