This turns your phone and a big TV into a giant computer screen. I take an HDMI coupler and a 12ft HDMI cable and use in my hotel room to lay in bed to surf and watch videos on the TV. I couldn't believe the picture quality. It was the same as if it was from a computer. Your phone turns into a touch pad and you easily just mouse around and tap what you want to do. Although I bought my Sanyo television in April 2019, it was not a smart TV, but I was intrigued of having the DeX in my phone settings, so I can "mirror" my smartphone to my television. I searched for several HDMI cables that offered DeX, but this product did, and it was great! The only problems I have with this cable is that it is not long enough from where I am sitting to the TV; it should be 10 ft (or longer) for the phone and computer cable (I may have to find and buy extensions, if available), and it does not charge up or keep the phone charged, as you use the USB Type C cable in the phone. Make sure your phone is charged if you going to use the cable to watch movies, etc for a 1 hr or so. Overall, it is a great product to have and I got my money's worth, so get it and check out what your phone can do on the TV screen!

I got this to take in our travel trailer for camping trips where we don't get any TV reception from our antenna. In the product description, it say it will not work for Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max etc however, when I connected it to my TV it mirrors whatever is on my phone. The instructions weren't very clear but it isn't hard to connect. You must plug the USB plug into either a charger or the USB port on the TV. The picture isn't as good as it would be from a cable connection, but it is ok. As long as I have a cell signal I can use my data plan to stream shows from my various streaming services.
