This little lathe works great for working on bentwood rings (sanding, finishing, sizing the width of the band as well as cutting grooves for wire inlay.) the spindle (looks like the screw polishing pad spindle attachment from a rotary tool) and knives that come with it are only good to test it. It would have been nice to have gotten a 6mm plum blossom thimble instead of the other stuff. I have not tried to actually turn something from a block of wood but I'm sure it would handle it within reason.
