   I read some neg reviews - takes as long as boiling on stove top, etc. For me this eliminates having to wash my big "spaghetti pot" and a colander. I don't have a dishwasher. I have cooked linguini, fettuccine, and frozen tortellini and all my pasta has been great! I love that you add pasta and water and put in the microwave and do something else without having to keep going back and stirring and checking for possible boil over. It's a WinWin to me less pans to wash and less constant checking while cooking. Did I mention it's so easy to wash? I love it!

   I NEVER buy "as seen on TV" items. But after being recommended by a few friends and because the above price was very reasonable, I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! (Even though I first tried it, I didn't cover it properly and my pasta ended up in the sink!). Anyhow, I now use it to steam vegetables, all kinds of pasta & LOVE it. I still make the sauce in the normal amount and freeze & store it in the fridge. Then I can simply cook the fresh pasta in less quantity than desired and heat up my "homemade" sauce, and that's it! delicious fresh noodles!

   This is easily the best thing I've ever bought for myself. As someone who is poor and also mentally ill, meals can be difficult to make on account of money AND ability to motivate myself for a length process. Now I can just pop spaghetti or elbow macaroni or what-have-you into this and put it in the microwave for 15-18 minutes. Great product, I use it literally all the time.    I would recommend this to everyone! I have used it for several types of pasta a number of times, and the pasta was perfect every time. I am on my second one....I broke the first one when I was cleaning out cabinets and dropped a heavy griddle on it, and this grown woman nearly cried...fortunately, I found one on the website. Depending on the type of pasta, you can have an impressive dinner on the table in 16-20 minutes.....just heat some bread sticks and toss a salad while the pasta cooks. No one has to know the sauce came in a bottle and the bread was frozen!

   We have a 900 watt microwave bought today. Tried it for the first time for 6:00 min. No water was hot. Then retried for 5:00 min. water was hotter but the spaghetti was almost there. The last trial was for 10:00 min. now the water was boiling hot. We took it out and we love the straining feature on the unit. No more reaching for a separate strainer or a heavy or big pot. It came out great and tasty not gummy. I believe it was due to power adjustment level but it worked.

   This is actually a second one to replace the first one we bought when the first melted after being inadvertantly placed on a hot burner. This is a great addition to any kitchen. I prefer to use it to steam cook potatoes and vegetables as it does so without cooking out all the flavor and nutrition. We gave one of these to each of our kids for Christmas as they are all busy people and these have saved them a lot of time, too. In less than 10 minutes I can have the potatoes cooked while I put together the rest of the meal. It is easy to clean and lightweight. I love the strainer lid as then I don't need a colander. Quick, nutritious food, fast cooking, easy cleaning and a great price...can't be beat.

   I think this would be great for a dorm room or to leave at the office. I had bought some of those healthy choice "steamers" to take to my office. They actually work really great but I didn't like the taste of any of them so I thought I would try this. Ronzoni has a new penne pasta that cooks in three minutes and it cooks great in this. Now I just need to make a big pot of sauce and throw it into freezer bags so I can take them to work. It will make a nice homemade meal in about 5 minutes (including cleanup).
