It is not for dogs that are hard of hearing or recommended for dogs over age 6; probably because expectations of them being hard of hearing. My dog is a rescue but the vet seems to think he's over 10 years old; he responds well to this device. Thank you for making this product. Kubo is not splitting my eardrums anymore and hopefully not annoying the neighbors.
