I had just a small mark where I had glue on it. I used nail varnish remover to get the glue off. The leather came off too. As I already still had the backing intact, I thought I would try and just put the colourant on and heat as stated. IT WORKED. I do have a hole in the side also which I will use with the backings so I'm sure that will work too. I'd def say have a go as it worked for me.
