We love this set, it's nice to play with over 2 inch squares and large weighted pieces. The craftsmanship exceeds what we expected at this price point. I think negative reviews here regarding the quality either didn't get a set built to the standard we received or they are perfectionists with demands out of line with the price the set is offered at. Wiegel's website has a photo gallery of their factory if you're interested in seeing how the boards and pieces are made.
