   This is a great product. Seems to have both light amplification and IR capabilities. I say this because you can see objects in the dark without switching "ON" the IR mode. One minor comment is the magnification, which has an either normal position or ffull magnification position. However, I would recommended this to anyone. Far superior than anything else being offered on Amazon.

   The product case and night vision had cat hair all over it. That aside the product appears to work well, i like the 3 night settings. Have to try picture mode and other features. The product is easy and intuitive to use. The only down side at this point appears to be the 8 AA batteries required, however there are advantages to that too.

My only negative would be it takes 8 batteries and wish they would last longer with the IR active. But the automatic shutoff after inactivity helps with this. Would definitely recommend these for the price.

   I purchased this unit to identify sounds in the woods while camping since I camp alone and never know if it's bear or deer, now I will know with this incredible night vision capability. I have used this unit to aim at stars and I am very impressed with its zoom ability to use natural starlight to see what my eyes cannot, with or without night vision on!! The unit seems to zoom to infinity when aimed at stars and as well ranges itself for ground based sighting. The manual zoom is stiff and allows for a very accurate clarity in image focus. I am excited to be able to record my night time adventures with a quality picture that is not green or reguires the use of external recording devices. For the price and the quality I have received I am more than pleased and will be looking at this company for future items.

Haven't really got to use them for long periods of time, but batteries are running strong. I'm using the envloop pro batteries as recommended by manufacturer.
