Especially if you're in a big city and just know that there should be a lot of channels, you can use that "tuner" function on smart TVs that seems to be mostly overlooked these days. Well - plug in the antenna and magic happens - like suddenly the reception can work and you discover that you have more local channels that you can access that even you didn't know I needed it. We actually mounted ours behind the television and it was incredible. Really didn't expect much, but got what we were looking for (local news and sports). Worth a try if you want a cheap, handy solution.
