This extender works great for us. It claims to be waterproof, and we've had it outdoors for months, but it's under a porch. I wouldn't leave it fully exposed, and other reviewers have noted problems when doing so. So I guess it can stay outdoors if it's not in direct rain or weather exposure. YMMV, but for us it's great. Setup was easy and it works well.
