I really like this leash, it allows me to walk my dog while hands free. The only thing that I think is missing is the manual stops button that you find on other retractable leashes. This leash does have an automatic stop, meaning if your pet tries to run away quickly it will stop them automatically, and it's pretty reliable. There is a little plastic piece that you can wrap the cord around to manually stop your pet but I find it to be annoying. I wish I could just press down on the center of the colored area to just stop manually.

She doesn't generally pull, but did get excited going to the groomer and pulled some, I had a grip on the handle and it still held nicely. I'm sure she could break it and run if she needed to, so would definitely not recommend this for a heavy/strong untrained dog, but for a service dog it provides a great hands free usability while still making sure the dog stays attached and doesn't get tangled in a longer leash. .
