   This cutter is probably good for carving wood but I wanted to get rid of some small stumps and tree roots. It cuts very good but only in a straight line. You have to cut cross hatch lines and break off the squares when your done. It doesn’t work as well as you would expect. Side to side is pretty much impossible. Running it into the dirt will dull it just like a chain saw.

   Not like a regular chain saw. Ok for a small stump. But for it's size it's a nice option. I bought it for multiple purposes, not a regular stump remover. If you understand that limitation, then you should be ok. Still, it's too small for regular use on trees. In my humble opinion, use it to carve wood. I ended up buying a small chain saw for the stump. I won't stress my angle grinder to tackle a stump again. Not a problem with the product, just the description is a bit misleading. As far as function for other purposes, it would be fine.

   This is because unlike a chainsaw, this has no oiler for the chain. I can cut up 3 pallets before it needs to be sharpened. But its better than sawzall as those dull quick too. I will say its very dangerous and I have my side handle on my angle grinder when using this. if not its slips out of your hand and if the Run is locked on, you have a flailing chainsaw bouncing around at your feet. So extra caution when using is needed.
