Unlike some of the other bands I bought before, these bands don't smell bad. The anti-snap double protection benefits during my work out as well.

   Although I started lifting weights in high school, I never used a chest expander, primarily because the springs were a real hazard with pinching. Now, decades later, these rubber tube expanders are on the market and remove the problem of pinching. This unit is pretty solid and the price was good. You can remove the bands to change the tension. The thing to remember is to balance the location, e.g. two tubes would be the top and bottom slots, for 3 tubes add one in the middle. I got this primarily as a light exercise for rotator cuffs and it is working fine. When I started, I had to drop it to two tubes. Over time, I have moved it up to 4 tubes. As I say, I got it because the spring ones were always a problem for me.The rubber tubes work for me.

I immediately used it with two of my personal training clients and thought they were very useful and gave new variations to exercises that I already like.    I am 70 years old and fighting to keep muscle mass. I thought I would get a bench and some free weights for my new exercise room but feared it would take up too much room. So I got these. They are BETTER than free weights, at my age. I don't need to lift a lot of weight. I find it I double up the strongest (black) band, I get more than enough resistance. I can do a complete workout with these. In fact, it keeps me from hurting myself by trying to go too heavy.

   I've been using these for over a year now, pretty heavy duty use. Only problem I ever had was I think I overstressed the 40lb band, using it in conjunction with a 35 and a 30 for some heavy duty rows, and the 40 pounder clip separated from the tube. The Good News is that the cloth sleeve worked exactly as designed and constrained the tube from whipping around when it released. The Great News is that the company is replacing the 40 pounder tube and throwing in a couple of spare handles for free. They answer emails immediately and could not be more pleasant and helpful. Great company, great product, great folks.

   I have used two other resistance band sets before this. They were the standard fat ended bands with single band capable handles. They worked pretty well and mostly did their job. I can say at this point I like this set much better. The ability to just "clip" on whatever weight combinations has been a great addition to my workout capabilities. I know there were handles you could buy to let you connect like three of the fat ended bands but they cost about half of what this whole set cost me. Other things I like about this set over some similar I considered are the wrapped bands (so snapped bands don't poke yer eye out) and the ankle straps which looked (and are) a little more padded and more comfortable than others.
