I got this for my 4 year old as a gift for being super good at the dentist. This game is so simple, it is brilliant. My 2 year old and my 4 year old LOVE IT! Plus, no removable parts, no batteries, and its compact design makes it portable. I can see them losing interest quickly since it is so simple, but I plan to put it on a shelf for a few weeks and then it will be a hit again. It seems sturdy enough, although it is entirely plastic. We just got it a few days ago, so I can't speak to its longevity. The "sore tooth" definitely seems random. We played about 10 games right away and had only one repeat. One word of caution: show your children how it "chomps" down before you start playing. Though it is completely harmless, it scared my 4 year old to the point she didn't want to play until the rest of us had played several more games.
