Description

Fish Stool Suction Collector

Benefit:

High Quality: This fish stool suction collector is made of high-quality Acrylic material, which is durable and has a longer service life than others.

Automatically Maintain Clean Aquarium Tank: The Fish Stool Suction Collector is a 3-in-1 pump that works as a filtration, oxygenation, and stool collector device.

The device uses a pneumatic principle, filtering water in the tank to contain fish waste and impurities in the middle compartment and releasing clean water back out to the tank. No More Frequent Maintenance: With a cleaner aquarium, it would reduce the need for frequent water changes and gravel cleaning.

Fish Stool Suction Collector

With the fish waste contained, it reduces water pollution and bad-smelling odor too. Effortlessly Maintain A Clean Aquarium Environment for Thriving Aqua Life with Fish Stool Suction Collector! Easy Installation: Simply plug the device into an air pump and place it in the aquarium tank.

Fish Stool Suction Collector

Once the middle compartment is filled with fish waste, simply remove and clean it before placing it back in the aquarium tank. Biological Filter Ball: The device has a biological filter ball at the bottom of the cylinder which boosts the growth of nitrifying bacteria, which is required for the nitrogen cycle.

When you get this filter, be sure to take out the media and give it a good rinse. There was a lot of small pieces of plastic in there. Other than that, I have no complaints.
It takes a few days for the media to start moving around like it should. If you find it's still not moving much after a few days, try unplugging your air pump for a few minutes, then plug it back in. That usually helps get it moving.

Once the fan housing get 'clogged' with what I assume is algae, it interfered with the process. The algae slowed the fan so much it became ineffectual. Once I realized how to correct the matter; I took the unit apart and let it dry out after washing (no cleaners) as well as I could. Once dry, I spun the fan with a stick; when it spun freely I reassembled it and so far it is working well.

I like this filter a lot. I've been using it since February this year. I do have to occasionally clean it out, or else it stops bubbling. Even with all that, it's definitely worth it.

I'm currently using four of these along with some other media sponge filters. I love that these come with K1 media, and I think the amount is sufficient, esp if you want the media to move.
My only complaint is that the sponge gets a bit clogged fairly quickly (not a total clog) which results in a larger of media just settling on the bottom. Since this seems fairly unavailable, I can't really remove a star for that.
Overall, I like that these can be set higher up in the tank so they can take care of some of the particulates in the water column, better than a standard sponge filter that sits on the tank bottom impo. The suction cups are well made and stick very well.
Just if you hope to take them out for cleaning, be sure to put a fish net below the filter before you lift it or everything stuck to the sponge is likely to dislodge with minimal movement and will leave your water pretty dirty looking till it settles or gets sucked back up against the sponge.

The product is good, but I struggled a lot during installation. The top cap or lid of the container kept popping out as it was loose, and the media floated all over the tank each time the lid popped open and it took a lot of the time to collect the floating media and put it back into the container. I had to add super-glue to keep the lid securely in its place.

It took a while for the beads to move, just as the instructions are indicated. But, sure enough, after about five days all of the beads were moving in a lava lamp fashion. My wine critique is that because of where the air supply hose plugs in, I don’t think there’s much filtration happening through the sponge at the base, but maybe it’s more than I realize. I’m keeping it if for no other reason because it looks cool. It is fairly noisy, so be warned. Both because of the moving beads but also the way that the bubbles leave the top, it’s the noisiest part of my aquarium
