   This is a great little tool for holidays or just general box opening. Sure you can use a pocket knife, a razor, or a reciprocating saw if you crazy enough like me. But this I can give to my kids and give them the chore without having to having them lop off anything important in the process. Works perfectly. Glad we bought it before the holiday. My wife always had trouble cutting open the plastic-wrapped Fort-Knox packaging that come from the stores, plus we'd both get our hands hacked up trying to use a knife or scissors to open them. Not anymore. This ZipSnip gets the job done in spiff time. This is a powerful little tool, and it works like a charm. We've also found it does a great job just cutting paper, cardboard, and other similar items. She uses it for her scrap-booking and other crafting work. Great price and warranty!

   My old and beloved electric cutter bit the dust about a year ago and I couldn't find another one anywhere. The world must have been rethinking things, because when I got this new one I was impressed by the improvements. The "dead man" safety switch is activated by squeezing the bottom toward the body, which means even someone with small hands can squeeze the switch AND press the power button on top, even while maneuvering for a good cutting angle. We've done cardboard boxes galore and even cut up an old smelly rug in the few weeks since we got it. Don't know how long the blade will stand up to that sort of use, but so far it's simply outstanding.

   I love these! They are quieter than most I've used. I love that the best about them. But they work great too. I use them for boxes and wrapping presents. They were a little awkward to cut wrapping paper at first (I think because they are designed to use on thicker things, like cardboard boxes.) But, I quickly adjusted to them and they work great. I have other electric scissors that are probably not as awkward for wrapping but, because of how much quieter these are, I prefer these. Hope this helps!

   I purchased this item hoping it would be more durable than several claimed as I receive everything via delivery. I have been pleased with its performance and durability. Some claimed the cutter guard somehow found its way to the other side of the cutter blade. I have had no such problem because I allow the cutter to do the work and not push it into the material; which could be the source of others’ problem. If you don’t try pushing the cutter into the material (generally cardboard) to speed it up, that problem will unlikely occur.

I get things from the hardware store on occasion that come packaged in HEAVEY plastic and it it takes a stick of dynamite to get the product out. This cutter zips right around the end and side and gives you instant access. Nice little tool.
