   Gave it 4 stars earlier review because velcro break-away feature broke way easy and put dog in danger on 1st ride. Easy fix - put 4 zip ties around the velcro break away and no more issue. Best fix is make a secondary backup lanyard from paracord. 57 lb hound loves this set up but make sure you reward them with some sniff time or they get bored. Watch for ears near the front wheel and check their feet frequently, bring lots of water. Now I can cut her loose and she stays near the bike! Best new K9 invention! If I was younger...I would run twin hound power!

   This bike-leash is well made, and works very well. The instructions are easy to follow, and there's even a video on the DJ website that shows clearly how to adjust the "breakaway" mechanism (must-do!) for your dog's weight. The leash attaches to either side of your bike, so you can adapt to various settings and conditions. I attached it in seconds, and away we went. My dog knew immediately where to trot, and the moderate pace we established kept her focused on the road, not distractions. At one point, she tried to stop, resulting in a mild jerk of the leash, but not enough to disturb me (and I'm a mature, wobbly rider). Since she's a mature dog and not used to sustained trotting, we're slowly building her range, so she enjoys the experience and doesn't get over-tired or sore.

   I love this. I have a doberman pincher who has way too much energy. I would not recommend a bike that requires a lot of balance though. Instead choose a bike with a heavy frame so that you aren't fussing when your dog decides to investigate something in another direction.

   Finally! I can safely take my extremely prey-driven dog for a ride w/o fear of her crossing in front of my bike or pulling off to the side. She does provide quite a bit of forward momentum though. I use this with a harness vs collar to avoid injury in case of sudden potty stops.
