   I actually installed this because my oldest cat opens doors when I’m not home. He has plenty of space but there’s one room in the house we don’t let the cats into. He stopped trying for a long time but started up again recently and one of the other cats got in and closed herself inside. She was stuck there for a few hours before we got home and even noticed. Since we’ve installed it, he has tried a few times to break in and the device stops him in his tracks. Works perfectly!

   I bought this product to keep my nonverbal grandson from slipping out of a rented beach condo. The kit was easy to install and it worked great. It kept him inside the condo and we didn't have to worry about him getting into danger. Right before we left we followed the manufacture's directions for removal on their YouTube video. We heated it with a hairdryer for about 5 minutes and it popped off easily without damaging the paint on the door. We kept the plastic strip that we took off to install the kit and we were able to use it to recover the back of the door lock. I plan to reuse it in the future. I highly recommend this product!

   These safety handles are great. Our toddler is a little under 3 feet and hasn't figured out if we only engage the lower portion, we can leave the top portion open and move the door handle up to open the door. He only pulls down to try and open the doors which is prevented by the lock. Some locks only let you adjust the top - this one lets the top and bottom locks work independently which makes it easier to use - for the adults.
