   We had these installed before my youngest was born for our oldest, but now with him growing up and figuring things out, we've had to buy a few more of these locks. Our whole apartment has bar handles so it's really easy for him to open them. With these we usually have just the bottom arm out to stop him from opening the door in the downward direction. He's not able to push the handles up yes, however, his sister and the rest of our family can. This enables us to still use the doors normally, but prevents him from being able to go in and out as he pleases. We haven't had one fall off yet in the last three years and only one of our older ones has recently broken from prolonged use. Super happy with these locks, and it's impressed even some child development specialists we've had visit our home. They've recommended these locks to other patients. I also highly recommend them.

   Our dog has learned how to open all the lever doors in our house. We wanted something she couldn't push down if she got her paws on it. These are great. Even if you have only one free hand, they are easy to open (you only have to open either the top or bottom to get through the door) but they do require you to push both the top and bottom buttons which require a little effort. Dog could not get to the door handle no matter how she tried and has since discontinued using it. Planning to buy more!

   OMG, I can't believe how great these are. We have French Doors going to the outside of our home. The kind where both panels can be opened and you have a 6' opening to the outside. But to re-close and lock them you have to pull both sets of handles "up" to engage the bolts at top and bottom. Most of the time, you only open the active panel to exit and enter, and leave the passive panel alone with the bolts still engaged up and down.

   When my son was probably about 22 months old he got a little excited one day and was able to push the handle to our front door down and open it up while I was in the bathroom thankfully downstairs. By the time I got off the toilet and ran to the front door he was already on the porch. I read the reviews on these and I purchase most of my things based off of use and I am so so thankful that I did these have been literal Lifesavers for the two doors we have to worry about him being able to open I’m genuinely thankful for whoever created these. If your toddler is doing the open the door track Kathy’s I promise you won’t regret it

   So roommate has a cat that they let run around the entire apartment. Which is great I have no problem with that. That was until little kitten now turns 9 months and is big enough to jump up to open doors. He’s got separation anxiety so I understand and leave my door open for him to hang out in my room while I’m there. Only issue is that I have essentially oils, and other cat hazardous items. So while I’m away he loveessss to come and play in my room which is a major red flag 🚩 soooo after talking to apartment management they gave me to go ahead to put the lock on the door to keep little critter out while I’m gone. Super sweet this also lets me have some privacy from time to time since my roommates haven’t figured out how to open my door with it on! Honestly probably the best money I spent while at school 😂
