I'm putting plywood (3/8") on the ceiling and these are great, I 'm working alone so I put one side up and then put my T bar in the middle. Then take my time driving screws. It would be nice if you had the option of Aluminum but so far I love it !.

I would highly recommending purchasing a pair of these supports if you are planning to hang drywall solo. I finished about 800 square feet of ceiling, at 8 feet height, with the help of these supports. I was very skeptical at first but ended buying them based on other favorable reviews. There was a slight learning curve, so try to use these on half sheets before going to full 4x8 sheets.

Yeah you can make something like this with a piece of 1x4. But as it goes these things work perfectly if you are trying to install a large sheet of drywall to the ceiling by yourself. There is a guide that keeps the device from spinning. The guide also spaces the beveled edge the correct distance to slide the sheet rock. I had the far one installed as suggested. The near one I installed then backed out the screw and rotated it out of the way. After I got the sheet rock into position, I grabbed my screw gun and tighten the near support to completley support the drywall. Very nice.
