Car Head Up Display – Windshield Speed Projector

I tried this in my car but will be using it in an RV as soon as it warms up enough to go camping. I wanted to see two things - how well it projected onto the windshield and how accurate it was compared to my speedometer. What I decided was, number one, it showed up very well on the windshield but second, since this is using GPS satellites, that what I was really doing was verifying that my speedometer was accurate rather than this device. GPS was using time over distance to give extremely accurate speeds. BTW my speedometer is accurate. The speedometer is sometimes hard to read because the steering wheel is partially in the way and all of the gauges are set back into the dash far enough that the lighting is dim during the day making them hard to see. This will make a big difference at a reasonable price for something this accurate.

Because of the reflective film I can see the number clearly even in bright day light. I think that's what sets this product apart from other hud products.

I just set the reflective film a little below my eyesight and I can read the number without looking directly down at it. Lovely!

No more need to annoyingly keep looking down at the dashboard every few seconds to check the speed.

I was concerned at first about this unit displaying on the windshield as it should. After install, the speedometer works perfectly even without installing the small mirror lens they send with it. Would buy again!

I got this for my old Honda Civic because whenever it rains the speedometer stops working. After plugging it in it instantly started working. It also tells you which direction you are driving but you can switch between the modes if you don't want to see it. It came with a little tint reflector to put on the window to help reflect the speed, it really helps in the daytime. There is no instructions on installing the tint so it's important for anybody that doesn't know just take the peel off BOTH sides and spray the non reflective side with water. Then push it against the windshield (on the inside of the car) and push out all the bubbles.

Thinner numerals mean this thing isn't as obtrusive at night, it doesn't blind you when it's dark! Great addition for any car, particularly hybrids, so you can tell when the engine is running. Once you are used to it, you can just keep your eyes on the road and your peripheral vision will see the changes on the readout, you'll know how fast your going even if not looking directly at it. Mine took a bit of calibration but very, very easy to figure out. Instructions were actually pretty reasonable. Overall a great little product and I would recommend this one over the ones that look fancier because this one won't blind you at night AND you probably can't interpret all the information the other models are displaying anyway at a glance, which defeats the purpose.

Followed the instructions and made the appropriate adjustments. Worked perfectly using on our 2018 Mazda3. Came with the reflector sticker for the windshield but didn't use it to since I could see just fine. You just have to be patient and fine tune the speedometer reading.

I recently bought one that was 5 times more than this and had to return it because it was not good. I found this product and this is much better and excellent pricing. Works as advertised. Shipping was fast too!

It simply connects to the OBD port and works , the read out on the windshield is clear enough even in direct sunlight, I didn’t even use the reflective screen that comes with the package, adjusting the different mode is a bit tricky though, but it’s well worth the investment for keeping your head up while driving
