After just the first night I could see him learning how to use it and starting to depend on it pretty quickly. Sometimes he gets stuck if he gets caught on something but he's not the smartest at problem solving lol so I have to come and help him unstuck. He can nap in it but I usually take it off at night so he can lie on his side. He always bounces off things when he wears the halo but it's better than running into things. It's also much more effective than a cone because the cone will always hit the floor if he puts his head down.
