This is perfect for those situations. I personally freeze the filter only sometimes and put a glass of water in the fridge which I refill when I fill the arctic. I then add some ice to the arctic and the cold bottle of water. My room stays around 2-5 degrees cooler when the door is shut. It's not for heavy duty jobs but it will work. Just get a little creative. Dont just use lukewarm tap water.

I can turn it on as easily as a fan, plus adding water and a small piece of ice that I froze in small refrigerator dishes in advance. I was in bad shape 2 years ago living with family that didn't like to run the AC and we live in AZ plus I'm in that age of hormone imbalance. I was so excited to see this and then read the reviews and continued suffering. Fast forward to 2020 and my AC went out. I have a mini dauchsund and it is really hard on her. I immediately said I don't want to be in this spot ever again I have to buy something. Again I am back looking at these reviews but this time focused on the good ones and thought I will return if I don't like it. To be clear my AC was fixed the next day but I decided to run it a little less cold so that it don't freeze up on me or go out again. I have it at 78 and my room has a lot of windows so it's either hot or cold and 78 is sometimes warm to me especially at night. Well around 3 pm I froze my filter and added ice and water to it. I wouldn't call it freezing but definitely a very cool breeze.
