I was so lucky I had one of those little eyeglass repair kits with a tiny phillips screw driver, and had AAA batteries too. It would be very disappointing to a kid to receive this toy and then not be able to use it until the next time you go to the store!

I ordered four of these but different sellers and different animals as gifts for our grandchildren. This seller is by far the best! The toy was wrapped in nice tissue paper with a foils seal. It was packed in a very nice heavy duty gift box perfect for gift giving. Very nicely presented. Two from a different seller need to be take out of the original package and put in another box because the boxes were is such bad condition. They both arrived in a plastic bag with the boxes all beat up and torn.

My three year old daughter has been having nightmares and night terrors for a couple months now. We've gotten a few things that mildly helped and made a bad guy spray. I figured I'd buy this for her for Christmas to see if it helps!
This thing is a freaking life saver! She loves it. We finally have been able to go to bed without any lights on since Christmas. She just turned this on, gases at the stars and shapes it's projects, she loves the spinning setting, and she falls asleep.
I love that it has a 10 minute automatic shutoff so if you accidentally fall asleep to you're not draining the battery. If she wakes up in the middle of the night she easily turns it back on herself and snuggles it back to sleep.
The sound it makes is not obnoxious at all, it kind of adds to the soothing effect in my opinion and helps her fall asleep. Heck this unicorn helps me fall asleep too. My only regret is that I didn't give it to her sooner.

The product is very cute, so far seems like good quality ( we will see, I just received today) . My child (3 yo) is in love with it she first fell in love after seeing it on the tv commercial and was thrilled to finally get one. However be careful the projection is very bright and can injure the eyes. Knowing this now I probably would have waited a few years for something like this. Probably a better toy for like 5 years and up first thing my child did was try to look in the projection if the problem continues we will have to regift this to somebody else.

The batteries are tucked behind a fabric flap and behind a screw so it would be hard for a kid to access the actual batteries. The light is bright and blinding in a dark room but it does actually project on to the ceiling quite well, I'm glad my kid is ok with it doing that on a table, as i think the light would be distracting if it actually got turned on while he was asleep (though the buttons would be hard to hit accidentally). I feel its expensive for what it is, but it does well and I had a hard time finding a plush that was like it

The light is very bright and soothing and it rotates on the wall. My kids love how they can choose a color. My oldest knows when it is getting low by how lights act so usually I have a set of replacement batteries ready to go. It is more durable and cuddly than this companies previous versions.
