Bad part was painted, paint being basically colored dirt with a binder--very abrasive. This allowed me to remove about 2 sq ft of painted wood in a tapered piece up to 1/2 inch thick. by that point was no longer cutting. could be re-sharpeded, but decided to just get another for the price to do the other end of the beam. Don't know what else would have worked.

It creates a lot of dust so be sure and wear all your PPE, I would also advise a heavy leather apron or something to protect your legs just in case the chain could possibly come off though very unlikely.
