It is adjustable so it can be put into different positions. I think that would come in handy for different size people or if the wind is blowing the rain in different directions. Sometimes we get this misty rain that just hangs in the air and this would be a wonderful product for those days. This is such a good idea. The umbrella mount can be folded up and fits well in his backpack along with his umbrella. It is one of those things that you didn't realize you needed until you got it. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.
