   This is my first time in purchasing and using a glucose monitoring system. I do not have diabetes and want to keep it that way. This system is complete and easy to learn to use. It has all the components for the puncturing to draw blood and the blood glucose monitoring strips. They are fast to register and read the glucose level after inserted into the meter. The meter keeps all former readings and shows an average when first powered up. This is a complete and easy to use and compact system. It is well made and seems consistent and accurate.

   Readings appear fairly accurate and the device is super easy to use. Great deal for the price. If you experience variations in readings, that's normal for these devices, and it's also very normal to have fluctuations depending on the time of day and recency of meals. I bought this because the doctor told me I was almost in the diabetic range and I wanted to see how I was doing between appointments. I have done tests at different times of day, before and after exercise, and before and after meals, just to get a feel for how my body changes during these things. Very cool. So easy, too. Not much blood is needed at all - one small bead.

   This device is simple to use comes with plenty of supplies to last a while. I'm thinking it is accurate but I don't know enough about these things to really tell. Looks well made, nice carrying case, batteries included. The only thing I don't like is pricking my finger. lol But no I'm kidding, it's a tiny pricker and you feel a pinch for a fraction of a second. Just enough to get a tiny droplet of blood. The testing is quick, counts down from 5 as soon as you put test strip on droplet and five seconds its done. Stores readings. Give you option to add a note if you tested after eating or not. Records info and time to save and compare to get average. Very good device and carrying case is small enough to put in pocket.

   I used this to track my levels throughout the day while on Metformin (pre-diabetic) and it seemed to be fairly accurate. I used a tracking app on my phone to be able to graphically see the trends (I use Glucose Buddy.. free version) and I liked it quite a bit. The first two to three times using this, I had to go slow because I was a newbie. Now I can take a reading while half asleep with this thing. For the lancing, I used a level '8' to get into my thick skin (I'm a bulkier guy) and it does the trick. The strip is easy to use although there have been a couple (out of maybe 20) that will read error which is annoying but oh well.

   This was SO easy to use once I got used to it. For me, I have to turn the puncture level to 8 or 9 to get a quick and adequate blood sample on the strip. Then stick the strip gently into the reader and it starts a countdown from 5 to 1. Then you have your reading. Super easy, quick and relatively painless!! This kit gives you lots of test strips and lancets so I think it's a great value and does exactly what I wanted it to do.

   This is the first and only glucometer I've purchased. I've had many low blood sugar episodes lately which was starting to scare me. I also was very curious what my readings would be upon waking and two hours after meals. I'm trying to avoid becoming diabetic and my numbers were in the pre-diabetic range at my last doctor's visit where labs were drawn. I know all of the meters sold can be in the plus/minus range of 15-20 so I was just trying to get some estimates of how I'm doing overall.

I ordered this as I've been doing the ketogenic diet since the beginning of December and want to see how certain foods affect my blood sugar and for how long. I don't see how other options are nearly double the price when this one includes ample supplies! The carrying case is of good quality and is about the size of your hand.
