The other reviews for this product are low in score because they didn't read that this mat is for pc use only. This mat is cheap and perfectly functional, so 5/5 for that. I tried using this pad with a ps2 emulator to play DDR, but it wouldn't register jumps. It works on stepmania, though.
I don't know how durable this thing is yet, only time will tell.
I highly recommend this for anyone nostalgic for early DDR games. Cheap, and it works.

It took a bit to figure out how to get it to work with Stepmania (you need to go through the options and manually map each "button", and then you have to go through the audio calibration sequence), but ultimately it works great for cheap Quarantine DDR. Having used a mat like this in the past, I do expect it will probably lose some responsiveness in a couple years, but for the price you can't really beat it.
The included disk was nice but ultimately useless as I do not have a disk drive -- however, as stepmania is free software, it's not even needed.
My only wish is that the USB cord were a little longer!

Ol' Grandma just loves this game. I play it only in practice mode and at the slowest speed, so no scoring and as many repeats or song changes as I want without hassle, essentially fun dance steps with little interruption. Also, mostly one step at a time vs. tangling up my feet. There is a great variety in tempo, rhythm, and challenge which keeps the game fresh all winter when outside exercise is out of the question. Our younger visitors like to rev things up and move their feet in a blur -- they love it, too. The screen is very easy to follow, much better (in my opinion) than the step dancing on Wii Fit. Very good workout.

Good Mat, I've had it for months with out any problems of damage and it breaking.
The only thing that is annoying is taking it out of the packaging and using it for the first time (The buttons are a little off because they've been folded together for a while, After a few uses there should be no problems)
When starting to use the mat frequently, It may get a little slippery when you get into the harder modes (I had played on expert and the top layer of the mat slipped, I almost fell on my face. The mat can be tricky for the harder levels, standard, basic and beginner should be fine)
Would recommend for DDR players.
