They actually make the swishing sound on impact, so you don't have to make them yourself, although, that's a tough habit to quit haha. They come with batteries installed, and they can connect at the bases to make a double sword. We've had them for a couple months now, and hit them a moderate amount, and they seem to be holding up well. Pleasantly surprised with the quality and solidness of these swords and hope they will last.
