If he sees someone in our yard that he does not know, he will bark whether or not we use this device. BUT he will stop sooner than without using it. Our daughter has a small dog (10 lbs). This device works every time for her. The discomfort the dog feels makes him stop immediately. Remember you must be consistent and use this device whenever your dog barks when they shouldn't. It is not a device for punishment. Use it to teach your dog when it is not appropriate to bark and allow it to bark when it is. This device is a teaching tool.

It just takes one click for her to back down. She also gets extremely jealous when we pay attention to our cats. She stops barking right away but the clock also bothers the cat who then leaps away from our arms. Because of this I don’t think we will use it to correct that behavior. I would highly recommend this product. It is easy to use and very effective at stoping unwanted behavior quickly.

She heard it immediately and it, at the very least freezes her and snaps her out of a barking frenzy. She’s a bit high strung and territorial, super scared of everything but suddenly and unpredictably aggressive at times lunging towards bikers or other dogs, which is an issue, and pressing the button on this does defuse the situation, she becomes alarmed and scared, as opposed to aggressive. I am wondering if she will acclimate to it or start to bark at it like it’s an intruder, bc she hates the sound...but as of now, she hasn’t done that! And it definitely helps snap her out of the crazy attack mode when she’s going nuts— when literally nothing else has worked! If you have a dog that has similar issues, I highly recommend it!

Others say this doesn't work with clothes, but it works fine for me. You may have to lay out your clothes on a flat surface like a bed to do that, but that's okay because I spread the clothes on the bed before wearing to match them with accessories.
