The second lower handle is extremely convenient for getting quick control of your dog in crowded situations. There's even a metal ring just below the top handle to hang your poop bag container on. Best of all there's reflective stitching on both sides that really stands out when lights shine on it. A professional well designed leash. My fiance and I have the derpiest 75lb female pitbull that has ever walked this planet, with only love and loyalty in her heart. At three years old, she has lots of energy, and gets especially wiggly whenever strangers give her attention. This ALWAYS results in her going after the leash, by means of chewing, gnawing, and tugging. Nine times of out ten, we end up using the leash to play a brief game of tug-of-war. After greeting passing shoppers and receiving complements on how great a Lab he was, he became quiet for a few minutes. When we got home my wife reached for the leash only to find he had chewed through it. I contacted the company and told them it wouldn't be necessary to send a replacement because we would need to find a steel leash of some sort. I could not find a steel leash with a double handle and so contacted the company again and asked for the replacement. It was sent out immediately. The leash is a quality study product. This dog must have chainsaw teeth because I don't know how he was able to chew through it. Then again, we just got his DNA back and our beautiful "Lab" is a "Lab Chihuahua mix." How can this be? But we love him and our foster boy will now become our adopted rescue..

This one is far enough away from the clip to be ideal. The leash is well made and strong. I found the 6 ft leash to be too long for me, with a big German Shepherd -- the 4 ft leash was perfect. I use the 10 inch traffic leash on her halter, and then attach this double handle leash to her martingale collar -- and then I have all the control I need with a 75 pound dog!

The D ring by the top handle is a great place to attach your poop bag dispenser. I really like having the shorter traffic leash handle in addition to the normal one. It really makes it easier for my kids to keep control of our dog. Because our dog is a medium breed and a little short (about 14 inches to the shoulder), when my husband or I use the traffic handle on her it's just a hair too short and lifts her head up and pulls her back. If she were taller, it wouldn't be a problem
