Went to Montana last month to stay on the Yellowstone. It got unseasonably cold and one night got down to 15 degrees. That's REALLY cold when camping in a tent! We used this in the tent and sat in front of it for most of the night. One container of propane lasted the entire night on high. Thank God we had it- we would have frozen despite having multiple layers of clothing and Everest-grade sleeping bags. By far the coldest night I've ever spent outdoors. I would recommend this to anyone. It's lightweight and works very well.

We purchased a fitting to work with a BBQ propane tank and it runs all weekend (night only) without putting much of a dent in the tank. Just beware carbon monoxide poisoning. It comes with a built in low oxygen shut off but I also purchased a Home Depot CO detector just in case. Easy to turn on/off, haven't caught self on fire yet, but there is still time.

It saved my water line feeding my water heater from freezing during the subzero temperatures and single digits we experienced. A 16 oz propane bottle will burn for a little over 5 hours on low setting. Heater is easy to use; directions are clear and straight forward. Does a great job of heating an area basically 10 by 12 feet. BUT YOU MUST BEWARE OF CARBON MONOXIDE GAS. The direction booklet stresses this and it should. I would recommend this heater for a backup when the power fails to used for heating a wall with your water line or pool pump! Don't think I would use this in a tent unless it was ventilated properly. I did not purchase it to keep me warm; only my water line.

Total game changer for camping, you can use the small tanks or buy a hose at Home Depot to connect it to a normal size propane tank, we had a full size tank that was about a quarter full and lasted us all weekend. We’d wake up so warm and cozy we didn’t want to leave the tent and normally we’re up and out to warm up in front of a fire. It’s also completely safe! We set ours on a collapsible side table but if it fell over or anything it will automatically shut off which is relieving to know. This heater is a must have!

I love this heater! It is the first and only one I have so I don't have a lot to compare it to. My only regret is not buying a bigger one - at least one size up. We use it for our son's outdoor sporting events and, unless we have the easy up with the sidewalls up, it doesn't really heat a large area. It would if we were in an enclosed area but if there's any sort of wind, you really have to be right up on it. Of course, that is probably the case with a bigger one too. I just think maybe if it put out a bit more heat it would work better for us. Besides that, this one is great! It's lightweight and easy to handle. It has a safety feature where it turns off if it's kicked or bumped over so I don't have to worry about that with a bunch of kids running around. They make a carrying case for it but it fits perfectly in our utility tote that I carry the rest of our gear in, so we didn't need that. Overall, it's great and we'll probably upgrade to the bigger model soon!

This is a great tent or "cold room" heater. Works with any of the Coleman small green tanks. But if you want longer run time I would suggest getting the 20lb tank adapter. One small green tank will run it about 6 to 8 hours setting on low. Much lighter than i had thought which I liked. It also has a swivel out connector making it very easy to replace the tanks when needed. A small magnetic holds the tank in place keeping it from flopping around. Can't go wrong with this unit!
