When you open it, you may see that it comes well protected. Santa's terminations are well done. Assembly is very easy. The ladder's base weight gives a firm support to the ladder. Just assembly the ladder and plug it in. Enjoy the Christmas music while Santa is going up and down the stairs with bright Christmas bulbs. The controls are located inside his red toy bag on the floor so they are hidden. We like that it plays so many different choruses, but the volume can be adjusted or turned off and he can still climb up and down. Our little grandsons love him!!!! We have him leaned up against a pencil tree so we didn’t use the brace that is included. This works great for us. We are very pleased.

Love how it has a wide variety of christmas tunes it plays. Santa's head rotates so accomodate the way you want him to be looking and he climbs up and down very well. When we first set it up against the wall it worked perfect, once I set it into the tree I had to do more messing around with because the branches would get in the way and then Santa would miss a step or two. That in itself caused some laughs and comments. We agreed that it was good that Santa had "safety gear" when climbing the ladder.

We love this decoration. It works great and is alarmingly accurate in its movements. Santa just goes up and down the ladder, but the figure moves so realistically, I might expect Santa to get off the ladder and walk around benevolently hanging Christmas lights and playing music. Nothing like the "Talking Tina" episode from the old 'Twilight Zone' TV program, but we thought it a very good idea to treat Santa nice and leave milk and cookies. That last part is not in the instructions, but should be. This is a very clever decoration, and you will enjoy it.
